Job summary

Ali & Sons Contracting is seeking a proactive Facility Maintenance Supervisor in the UAE to oversee maintenance across workshops, offices, and yards. The role involves coordinating preventive and corrective plans, supervising technicians and contractors, and ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

You will monitor building systems, manage costs and inventory, and drive continuous improvement while coordinating with internal teams and external service providers.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in facility maintenance with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas, EPC, manufacturing, shipyard, or heavy industrial facilities is preferred.
  • Relevant maintenance or facility management certifications are an advantage.
  • Strong leadership, planning, contractor management, communication, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day facility maintenance across workshops, offices, warehouses, and yard infrastructure.
  • Plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance schedules to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Monitor condition of buildings, utilities, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting and fire systems.
  • Coordinate maintenance with internal departments, contractors and external service providers.
  • Ensure activities are completed safely, efficiently, and per procedures and schedules.
  • Conduct routine inspections and recommend corrective actions.
  • Supervise maintenance technicians and contractors, ensuring quality workmanship.
  • Monitor costs, material usage and spare parts inventory for cost-effective operations.
  • Raise purchase requisitions for materials and external services.
  • Maintain maintenance records, equipment history, inspection reports and asset registers.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory inspections and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate facility improvement projects and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Support emergency maintenance and respond promptly to breakdowns.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping and safe working conditions.
  • Enforce QHSE policies and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Prepare periodic maintenance reports, KPIs, and continuous improvement recommendations.

Job description

We are seeking a proactive and organized Facility Maintenance Supervisor to supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities for buildings, workshops, utilities, and facility infrastructure. The successful candidate will coordinate maintenance teams, contractors, and service providers while ensuring all facilities remain safe, operational, and compliant with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise day-to-day facility maintenance activities across workshops, offices, warehouses, and yard infrastructure.
  • Plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance schedules to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Monitor the condition of buildings, utilities, HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, lighting, firefighting systems, and other facility assets.
  • Coordinate maintenance work with internal departments, contractors, and external service providers.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved procedures and project schedules.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance requirements and recommend corrective actions.
  • Supervise maintenance technicians and contractors, ensuring quality workmanship and timely completion of tasks.
  • Monitor maintenance costs, material consumption, and spare parts inventory to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Raise purchase requisitions for maintenance materials, spare parts, and external service requirements.
  • Maintain maintenance records, equipment history, inspection reports, and asset registers.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory inspections, municipality requirements, and relevant safety regulations.
  • Coordinate facility improvement projects, office modifications, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Support emergency maintenance activities and respond promptly to facility breakdowns.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping and safe working conditions throughout the facility.
  • Enforce company QHSE policies and promote a strong safety culture among maintenance personnel.
  • Prepare periodic maintenance reports, KPIs, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Perform additional responsibilities assigned by the Operations Manager or Management.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience:

Minimum 5–8 years of experience in facility maintenance, industrial maintenance, or building services, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Experience in Oil & Gas, EPC, manufacturing, shipyard, or heavy industrial facilities is preferred.

Technical Qualification:

Relevant maintenance or facility management certifications are an advantage.

Skills:

Strong leadership, maintenance planning, contractor management, communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Software:

Proficient in MS Office. Experience with ERP systems or Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is an advantage.

Knowledge:

Good understanding of building maintenance, HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems, utilities, firefighting systems, preventive maintenance, asset management, and QHSE requirements.

Languages:

Fluent in English.
