Job summary

Agile Consultants seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a cement plant in Fujairah. You will lead a maintenance team, plan preventive strategies, and drive reliability across kilns and mills while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role focuses on reducing downtime, optimizing budgets, and coordinating with production to sustain uninterrupted plant operations. 8–10 years of cement plant experience and strong leadership are essential for success.

Qualifications

• B.Tech / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 8–10 years of relevant mechanical maintenance experience within a cement manufacturing plant.
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical maintenance activities and equipment used in cement manufacturing.
• Hands-on maintenance experience with cement plant equipment, including kilns, coal mills, and cement mills (ball mills).
• Proven experience in preventive maintenance planning, breakdown maintenance, and equipment reliability improvement.
• Experience supervising mechanical maintenance teams and coordinating maintenance activities.
• Knowledge of maintenance budgets, spare parts planning, and critical inventory management.
• Familiarity with equipment performance indicators, including MTBF and equipment availability.
• Good understanding of industrial health, safety, and environmental practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the mechanical maintenance team to ensure all maintenance activities are completed efficiently and safely.
• Develop and implement comprehensive preventive and corrective maintenance strategies and schedules.
• Oversee the maintenance of plant machinery, mechanical equipment, and associated facilities.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Manage the mechanical maintenance budget and ensure cost-effective maintenance operations.
• Coordinate with production and other departments to ensure smooth plant operations and minimise equipment downtime.
• Analyse maintenance data, identify recurring equipment issues, and implement improvements to enhance machinery reliability and reduce breakdowns.
• Conduct regular equipment inspections and maintain daily maintenance checklists.
• Promote a Kaizen culture and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance efficiency and equipment performance.
• Plan spare parts requirements and maintain adequate inventory of critical mechanical spares.
• Monitor key maintenance performance indicators, including MTBF, equipment availability, safety performance, and maintenance costs.
• Support effective maintenance planning and inventory management to ensure uninterrupted cement plant operations.
