Job summary

Green Metal Industries in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a Senior Mechanical Maintenance Leader to manage the complete maintenance function of a steel plant, ensuring equipment reliability and safe operations. You will lead a team of engineers, supervisors, fitters, technicians and contractors.

Responsibilities include developing preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance programs, overseeing furnace and heavy equipment maintenance, coordinating with Production and other departments,

Qualifications

• Experience leading mechanical maintenance in a large steel manufacturing plant.
• Ability to develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical breakdowns.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the complete mechanical maintenance function of the steel manufacturing plant.
• Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance programs for all mechanical equipment.
• Oversee maintenance of Induction Furnace, Refractory, AOD, CCM, EOT Cranes, hydraulic systems, pumps, gearboxes, cooling-water systems and material-handling equipment.
• Ensure timely troubleshooting and rectification of mechanical breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance, major shutdowns, overhauls and equipment inspections in coordination with Production and other departments.
• Lead and develop the mechanical maintenance team, including engineers, supervisors, fitters, technicians and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with HSE procedures, PTW, LOTO, statutory inspections and applicable UAE safety regulations.
• Manage maintenance budgets, critical spare-parts planning, vendor coordination and cost-effective repair activities.
• Support plant erection, commissioning, equipment handover and production ramp-up, ensuring proper maintenance systems and documentation are established.
• Monitor maintenance KPIs such as equipment availability, downtime, MTBF, MTTR, preventive maintenance compliance and maintenance costs, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
