Job summary

Worley in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a senior Static Equipment Engineering Lead to drive front-end design through EPC and detailed engineering for major oil, gas, and petrochemical projects. You will guide design, specification, procurement, and vendor documentation, ensuring compliance with ADNOC standards and international codes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 15+ years of relevant Oil & Gas or Petrochemical experience, with at least 5 years in GCC (preferred).
  • At least 3 years in a similar position for major international Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all static equipment engineering activities during FEED, EPC, and detailed engineering phases.
  • Provide technical leadership for design, specification, and procurement of static equipment (pressure vessels, columns, heat exchangers, tanks, separators, etc.).
  • Develop and review equipment datasheets, specifications, material requisitions, and vendor documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC standards and applicable international codes (ASME, API, TEMA, ASTM).
  • Coordinate with Process, Piping, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Procurement disciplines for integration of static equipment requirements.
  • Review and approve vendor drawings, calculations, and inspection requirements.
  • Support constructability reviews, value engineering, and cost optimization throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, constructability workshops, and client/vendor meetings.
  • Monitor engineering progress to meet schedules, quality standards, and HSE requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and supervision to Senior Engineers and Engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all static equipment engineering activities during FEED, EPC, and detailed engineering phases of the project.
  • Provide technical leadership for the design, specification, and procurement of static equipment, including pressure vessels, columns, heat exchangers, tanks, separators, filters, reactors, and package equipment.
  • Develop and review equipment datasheets, specifications, material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and vendor documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC standards, project specifications, and applicable international codes and standards such as ASME, API, TEMA, and ASTM.
  • Coordinate with Process, Piping, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Procurement disciplines to ensure effective integration of static equipment requirements.
  • Review and approve vendor drawings, calculations, manufacturing procedures, and inspection requirements.
  • Support constructability reviews, value engineering studies, and cost optimization initiatives throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZOP, constructability workshops, and technical meetings with clients, vendors, and contractors.
  • Monitor engineering progress and ensure deliverables are completed in accordance with project schedules, quality standards, and HSE requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and supervision to a team of Senior Engineers, and Engineers.
  • Interface effectively with clients, licensors, suppliers, and project stakeholders to resolve technical issues and support successful project execution.
Minimum Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering or equivalent from an accredited university with a minimum of fifteen (15+) years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry, including minimum five (5) years (preferred) in GCC region.
  • Must have at least three (3) years of experience in similar position for international major Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects.
  • PMC & ADNOC experiences are required.
  • Required experience in FEED & EPC Phases of Oil/Gas Projects.
  • Offshore project experience is required.Strong knowledge of international standards and codes including ASME Section VIII, API 650, API 620, API 661, API 660, TEMA, and NACE requirements.
  • Experience in technical bid evaluations, vendor management, and fabrication oversight for static equipment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and multicultural project environments.
