Job summary

Worley is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer – Static for Abu Dhabi to lead static equipment engineering across FEED, EPC, and detailed phases. You will specify, procure, and review equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and tanks, ensuring ADNOC and global codes compliance.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, and drive delivery within schedule and HSE standards on oil and gas or petrochemical projects in the GCC, including offshore exposure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical.
  • Minimum 5 years (preferred) in GCC region.
  • PMC & ADNOC experiences are required.
  • Offshore project experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead static equipment engineering activities across FEED, EPC, and detailed design phases.
  • Provide technical leadership for design, specification and procurement of static equipment (pressure vessels, columns, heat exchangers, tanks, separators).
  • Develop and review datasheets, material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and vendor documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC standards and codes such as ASME, API, TEMA, API 650/620/661/660, and NACE.
  • Coordinate with Process, Piping, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Procurement disciplines for integration.
  • Review and approve vendor drawings, calculations, fabrication procedures and inspection requirements.
  • Support constructability reviews, value engineering studies and cost optimization.
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, constructability workshops and client/vendor meetings.
  • Monitor progress and ensure deliverables meet schedules and HSE standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all static equipment engineering activities during FEED, EPC, and detailed engineering phases of the project.
  • Provide technical leadership for the design, specification, and procurement of static equipment, including pressure vessels, columns, heat exchangers, tanks, separators, filters, reactors, and package equipment.
  • Develop and review equipment datasheets, specifications, material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and vendor documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC standards, project specifications, and applicable international codes and standards such as ASME, API, TEMA, and ASTM.
  • Coordinate with Process, Piping, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Procurement disciplines to ensure effective integration of static equipment requirements.
  • Review and approve vendor drawings, calculations, manufacturing procedures, and inspection requirements.
  • Support constructability reviews, value engineering studies, and cost optimization initiatives throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZOP, constructability workshops, and technical meetings with clients, vendors, and contractors.
  • Monitor engineering progress and ensure deliverables are completed in accordance with project schedules, quality standards, and HSE requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and supervision to a team of Senior Engineers, and Engineers.
  • Interface effectively with clients, licensors, suppliers, and project stakeholders to resolve technical issues and support successful project execution.
  • A bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering or equivalent from an accredited university with a minimum of fifteen (15+) years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry, including minimum five (5) years (preferred) in GCC region.
  • Must have at least three (3) years of experience in similar position for international major Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects.
  • PMC & ADNOC experiences are required.
  • Required experience in FEED & EPC Phases of Oil/Gas Projects.
  • Offshore project experience is required.
  • Strong knowledge of international standards and codes including ASME Section VIII, API 650, API 620, API 661, API 660, TEMA, and NACE requirements.
  • Experience in technical bid evaluations, vendor management, and fabrication oversight for static equipment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and multicultural project environments.
