Job summary

Al Ain Consulting Engineers LLC is seeking a Mechanical BIM Engineer in Abu Dhabi to develop and maintain 3D BIM models for mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, drainage, fire protection) using Autodesk Revit. You will model to LOD 300–400, create parametric families, and resolve clashes through multidisciplinary coordination.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, BIM/Revit coursework, 5+ years of experience including UAE, and strong knowledge of UAE Fire & Life Safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• BIM / Revit courses.
• 5+ years of total experience, including UAE experience.
• Experience with HVAC, piping, drainage, and fire protection systems.
• Engineering consultancy experience – preferably.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-quality 3D BIM models for mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping, drainage, and fire protection systems, using Autodesk Revit.
• Model to Levels of Development (LOD 300 to LOD 400), ensuring components meet fabrication and installation tolerances.
• Create custom parametric Revit families for mechanical equipment, valves, air terminals, and dampers based on manufacturer catalogs and project requirements.
• Independently resolve design conflicts by rerouting ductwork or piping, recalculating clearances, and adjusting layouts digitally before construction.
• Participate in multidisciplinary coordination meetings, present clash reports, and coordinate with structural and electrical engineers.
• Prepare mechanical engineering calculations, including HVAC cooling loads using Carrier HAP, external static pressure drops, and pipe sizing calculations.
• Extract precise BOQ and MTOs from BIM models.
• Prepare 2D drawings extracted from Revit with all required annotations, including schematics and typical details.
• Perform equipment sizing and selection and prepare equipment schedules.
• Review drawings and layouts for compliance with UAE Fire and Life Safety Code, ASHRAE, and NFPA standards.
