Job summary

NMDC Group seeks a 1st Watchkeeping Engineer on a dredger to monitor and operate all engine room machinery during watches, ensuring safe and efficient main engines, generators, pumps, and auxiliaries.

You will maintain logs and records, coordinate with deck and dredging teams, supervise junior engineers, assist in bunkering, and respond to emergencies with strong teamwork and safety awareness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in marine/mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years' experience on Marine vessels preferably on Dredgers.
• Certificate of Competency as Chief Engineer or 2nd Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate engine room machinery during watches.
• Maintain logs, readings, and engine room records.
• Support preventive and corrective maintenance as directed.
• Ensure safety procedures and permit-to-work compliance.
• Coordinate with deck and dredging teams for operations.
• Handle emergencies such as breakdowns, fire, or flooding in engine room.
• Supervise junior engineers and engine crew during watch.
• Participate in bunkering operations and monitor fuel transfer.
