Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in marine/mechanical engineering is required.
• Minimum 5 years rank experience onboard dredger.
• Certificate of Competency as Chief Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Oversee engine room and technical operations for safe, efficient dredger propulsion and auxiliary systems.
• Plan and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules per policies and class requirements.
• Lead, supervise and manage the engineering team with high performance and discipline.
• Monitor machinery performance and take proactive measures to avoid breakdowns and delays.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and statutory regulations at all times.
• Coordinate with Master, shore management and project team for operational needs and support.
• Prepare and maintain technical reports, maintenance records and budget forecasts.
• Oversee bunkering operations and fuel management; handle emergencies and major repairs.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions; train engine room personnel.
