Job summary

NMDC Group is seeking a 3rd Engineer to support the Chief and 2nd Engineers in operating and maintaining our dredging vessel's engines and systems. A strong mechanical background and passion for marine engineering are essential.

Responsibilities include engine maintenance, performance monitoring, safety compliance, and staff supervision. This role requires COc validation, and offers opportunities for career development within NMDC Group's marine projects.

Qualifications

• Valid Certificate of Competency (COC) for 3rd Engineer or higher.
• Extensive experience working on marine engines, preferably on dredgers.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work in a dynamic and sometimes challenging marine environment.
• Physical fitness and ability to work in confined spaces.
• Up-to-date knowledge of relevant safety regulations and best practices.
• A proactive approach to maintenance and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the daily operations and maintenance of the vessel's engines and auxiliary systems.
• Monitor and record engine performance, fuel consumption, and other vital parameters.
• Conduct regular inspections and troubleshoot any mechanical issues that arise.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
• Assist in the training and supervision of junior engineering staff.
• Oversee the proper storage and handling of fuel and lubricants.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and filter replacements.
• Collaborate with the Chief Engineer to optimize engine performance and efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation as per company standards.
