Role Context
The Senior Manager - Wealth Products will take commercial and strategic ownership of the bank \'s mutual funds and wealth lending portfolio. The role connects investment product management, fund selection, secured lending, client propositions, regulatory governance, technology delivery, and distribution into a unified wealth offering. Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the strategy, roadmap, value proposition, and commercial positioning for mutual funds and wealth lending products.
- Identify priority customer segments, emerging investment needs, market opportunities, and product enhancements that can improve adoption and profitability.
- Track product revenue, penetration, customer activity, balances, lending utilization, and other commercial indicators against agreed objectives.
- Ensure investment and lending propositions remain aligned with the broader wealth management strategy of the bank.
- Manage the complete lifecycle of mutual funds, covering sourcing, due diligence, onboarding, ongoing monitoring, periodic review, and potential removal.
- Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of investment funds, including historical performance, volatility, risk-adjusted returns, portfolio composition, manager capability, and investment process.
- Establish structured fund governance using scorecards, approved lists, watchlists, performance reviews, and documented selection criteria.
- Work with Investment Advisory teams to ensure available funds remain appropriate for target customer segments and portfolio requirements.
- Continuously evaluate opportunities to broaden or strengthen the bank \'s investment platform.
- For wealth lending, the Senior Manager will oversee Lombard Lending and portfolio-backed financing propositions, ensuring that investment assets and lending structures are connected through disciplined risk controls.
- Develop collateral eligibility criteria, lending parameters, loan-to-value structures, concentration limits, and monitoring requirements.
- Partner with Credit Risk teams to establish suitable lending policies, escalation processes, and risk mitigation frameworks.
- Oversee wealth lending from customer onboarding and facility activation through collateral monitoring, margin management, renewal, and ongoing review.
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell lending solutions to investment customers while maintaining suitability and responsible risk practices.
- Build productive relationships with asset management companies, investment platforms, custodians, fund houses, and other strategic partners.
- Negotiate commercial terms, fee arrangements, service standards, platform access, and preferred fund share classes where appropriate.
- Evaluate potential investment partnerships based on customer relevance, investment quality, commercial potential, and strategic fit.
- Maintain structured vendor governance and monitor external partners against agreed service expectations.
- Product development will extend from initial concept through commercialization. The role will coordinate business requirements, operating models, policies, controls, documentation, systems readiness, testing, launch preparation, and post-launch performance.
- Collaborate with Technology, Operations, Compliance, Risk, Legal, Investment Advisory, and Distribution teams during product implementation.
- Promote automation and digitization that reduce operational complexity and improve customer experience across investment and lending journeys.
- Establish KPIs and management reporting to measure product performance, operational effectiveness, risk indicators, and commercial results.
- Maintain strong product governance covering suitability, disclosures, customer documentation, regulatory obligations, and client protection.
- Coordinate management of market, credit, operational, conduct, and product risks with relevant control functions.
- Maintain documentation and evidence required for internal reviews, regulatory oversight, and audit readiness.
- Partner with Relationship Managers and Investment Advisors to increase product awareness and penetration among eligible wealth customers.
- Develop investment themes, customer propositions, campaigns, presentation materials, and product information supporting frontline conversations.
- Deliver product training, investment updates, and knowledge-sharing sessions to relationship and advisory teams.
- Support important client discussions with investment analysis, portfolio insights, product expertise, and lending knowledge when required.
- Use customer feedback, frontline observations, competitor activity, and financial market developments to refine products continuously.
Ideal Profile
The role requires a bachelor \'s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or another closely related discipline. Professional qualifications such as CFA, CWM, CAIA, or comparable investment credentials would be highly advantageous. Candidates should bring approximately seven to ten or more years of relevant experience across wealth management, investment products, product development, investment advisory, asset management, or financial services. Strong practical exposure to mutual funds, investment platforms, fund selection, product governance, and wealth propositions is important. Experience with Lombard Lending, securities-backed lending, portfolio financing, or other secured wealth lending structures would significantly strengthen the profile. The successful candidate should understand financial markets, portfolio construction, investment risk, fund manager assessment, commercial product economics, and the regulatory principles governing investment products. Experience developing strategic partnerships with asset managers, investment providers, custodians, or distribution platforms is particularly relevant. A strong commercial mindset is required alongside the ability to evaluate investment quality objectively, negotiate effectively, influence senior stakeholders, and translate complex financial concepts into practical product decisions.
