Role Context
The Senior Manager – Employee Communications will ensure employees receive accurate, relevant, and timely information about business direction, organizational developments, leadership decisions, cultural priorities, and transformation programs. The role will convert complex corporate information into accessible communications that help employees understand what is changing, why it matters, and how they can contribute. This position will work closely with business leaders, People and Organization, Corporate Communications, and change teams. Its impact will be reflected in stronger employee understanding, improved trust, consistent messaging, greater participation, and a more connected workplace experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop internal communication strategies and annual plans linked to business objectives, culture, leadership priorities, and transformation activity.
- Build communication campaigns that increase employee awareness, understanding, participation, and alignment.
- Translate strategic and operational information into clear messages for different employee audiences.
- Write leadership announcements, executive messages, presentations, newsletters, FAQs, intranet articles, and campaign materials.
- Develop communication narratives that explain organizational changes, employee impacts, implementation timelines, and required actions.
- Manage editorial calendars, content schedules, approvals, channel plans, and publication deadlines.
- Oversee internal communication channels and improve their relevance, consistency, accessibility, and effectiveness.
- Coordinate messaging across email, intranet, digital screens, collaboration platforms, leadership forums, presentations, and employee events.
- Partner with senior leaders to develop credible and engaging leadership communications.
- Prepare executive briefing notes, speaking points, scripts, presentations, and employee engagement materials.
- Work with People and Organization teams on culture, employee experience, recognition, policy, and workforce initiatives.
- Support change teams by identifying communication risks, employee concerns, information gaps, and stakeholder needs.
- Develop communications for business transformation, organizational restructuring, new systems, and major operational initiatives.
- Assist with crisis and sensitive employee communications while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and appropriate governance.
- Advise stakeholders on message clarity, audience segmentation, channel selection, timing, and communication impact.
- Review employee-facing content to ensure consistency with corporate language, brand standards, and organizational objectives.
- Monitor readership, channel use, employee feedback, engagement rates, participation levels, and campaign outcomes.
- Use performance data and qualitative feedback to refine messaging, formats, timing, and distribution.
- Maintain communication templates, editorial standards, approval procedures, content archives, and governance controls.
- Apply artificial intelligence tools to support drafting, editing, personalization, adaptation, and engagement analysis.
- Verify AI-assisted outputs for factual accuracy, confidentiality, context, tone, and brand alignment.
- Encourage communication best practices and support stakeholders in improving employee-facing content.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Media, Public Relations, Business, or a related discipline.
- 7‑9 years of experience in internal communications, employee engagement, corporate communications, or change communication.
- Proven ability to create and implement communication strategies for large or complex organizations.
- Strong experience supporting leadership communications and senior executive messaging.
- Background in organizational change, transformation, culture, or employee experience communications.
- Excellent writing, editing, presentation, and content development skills.
- Ability to simplify detailed or sensitive information without losing accuracy or meaning.
- Experience managing intranet content, newsletters, digital channels, communication calendars, and employee campaigns.
- Strong understanding of audience segmentation, channel planning, communication governance, and engagement measurement.
- Ability to build productive relationships with business leaders, People and Organization teams, and communication partners.
- Confidence advising stakeholders and challenging unclear, inconsistent, or ineffective communication requests.
- Sound judgment when handling confidential, leadership-related, crisis, or reputation-sensitive information.
- Experience interpreting employee feedback and communication metrics to improve future activity.
- Familiarity with artificial intelligence‑assisted communication tools and responsible human oversight.
- Organized working style with the ability to manage multiple priorities, approvals, and deadlines.
