Role Context
The Senior Manager - Compliance supports the VP Compliance in strengthening the organization\'s compliance framework, investigations oversight, ethics governance, and regulatory readiness. The role has a direct business impact by helping leadership identify compliance risks early, improving monitoring practices, responding to emerging regulatory matters, and building a clear culture of accountability. It also plays a people leadership role by guiding compliance and investigations professionals while developing junior talent through structured feedback, exposure to complex matters, and practical learning opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the setup, maintenance, and continuous improvement of a robust compliance framework aligned with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and governance expectations.
- Support the VP Compliance in embedding business ethics, integrity standards, and risk-aware decision-making across the organization.
- Work closely with investigations teams to review investigation volumes, trends, findings, and recurring risk themes.
- Identify corrective measures that improve compliance monitoring, employee awareness, internal controls, and training effectiveness.
- Provide strategic compliance advice to senior management on emerging regulatory risks, ethics concerns, internal misconduct risks, sanctions-related matters, and governance requirements.
- Oversee compliance training, awareness campaigns, and reporting activities across business units to ensure consistent understanding of policies and expected conduct.
- Collaborate with Legal, HR, Risk, Security, Internal Audit, and business leadership teams to maintain a coordinated approach to investigations, governance, and ethics.
- Prepare clear compliance reports, dashboards, executive summaries, MS Word documents, and PowerPoint materials for regulators, auditors, executive committees, and senior stakeholders.
- Support internal and external investigation matters involving misconduct, regulatory reviews, sanctions, human rights concerns, policy breaches, or ethics-related allegations.
- Lead a small team of compliance and investigations professionals, setting priorities, reviewing work quality, and ensuring timely delivery.
- Coach junior team members through structured management, regular feedback, practical guidance, and exposure to complex compliance assignments.
- Monitor compliance performance indicators and recommend improvements to strengthen transparency, accountability, and risk mitigation.
- Help build a mature compliance culture that supports responsible business conduct across a diverse regional operating environment.
Ideal Profile / Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting, Law, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Law qualification or demonstrated equivalent professional experience is preferred.
- 12 years of experience in corporate investigations, compliance, business ethics, governance, or regulatory risk management.
- Strong experience within the Middle East and North Africa region is preferred.
- Professional certification in compliance management, business ethics, forensic investigations, or fraud examination is highly valuable.
- Certified Fraud Examiner certification or similar investigation-related credential is preferred.
- Practical experience handling internal misconduct investigations, external regulator-led investigations, sanctions matters, human rights-related concerns, and complex ethics cases.
- Strong ability to advise senior stakeholders on compliance risks, investigation outcomes, governance gaps, and corrective actions.
- Experience designing or delivering compliance training for senior leaders, compliance teams, investigations teams, and wider business audiences.
- Strong reporting capability with confidence preparing executive-level dashboards, written reports, committee materials, and regulator-facing documentation.
- Proven people management experience with the ability to lead, mentor, and develop compliance professionals.
- High level of confidentiality, professional integrity, independence, and sound ethical judgment.
- Ability to work across Legal, HR, Risk, Security, and business functions in a fast-moving corporate environment.
