Key Responsibilities
- Establish category sourcing strategies that support commercial growth, supplier competitiveness, product availability, and long-term retail objectives.
- Lead cross-functional strategic sourcing and merchandising teams to deliver category plans, assortment decisions, and supplier initiatives.
- Manage supplier negotiations, execute contracts, and identify commercial opportunities that improve margins, value, and category performance.
- Build strong supplier relationships while ensuring vendors provide useful market intelligence, category insights, pricing updates, and strategic opportunities.
- Monitor supplier performance and guide corrective actions to reduce risk, improve service levels, and add measurable value to the business.
- Support the development of long-term country commercial strategies and contribute to cross-company projects that influence category growth.
- Define strategic merchandise direction and product assortment plans according to customer demand, market trends, pricing, and profitability goals.
- Oversee category profitability planning by reviewing sales performance, margin trends, promotional impact, and assortment productivity.
- Define and implement the promotional national calendar in coordination with relevant internal teams and supplier partners.
- Ensure online assortment and selection are aligned with offline product ranges to provide customers with a consistent retail experience.
- Work with e-commerce, digital, and store teams to strengthen product visibility, selection accuracy, and channel consistency.
- Guide merchandising teams on category priorities, product range decisions, supplier engagement, and commercial execution.
- Keep key stakeholders informed about market shifts, supplier opportunities, assortment changes, and category risks.
- Use data, customer behavior, supplier input, and market trends to support better commercial decisions.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree in E-Commerce, Business Administration, Retail Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Master's degree in e-commerce, supply chain, business, or a relevant discipline is an advantage.
- 7-10 years of experience in category management, merchandising, commercial planning, buying, or retail assortment management.
- Proven e-commerce experience is required, especially in managing online assortment, product selection, and digital retail alignment.
- Strong understanding of category profitability, supplier performance, promotional planning, and commercial strategy.
- Experience managing supplier negotiations, contract execution, sourcing activities, and vendor performance improvement.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams across merchandising, buying, e-commerce, supply chain, operations, and commercial functions.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market intelligence, sales trends, customer behavior, and category performance.
- Confident leadership style with experience managing teams, developing talent, and setting clear commercial priorities.
