Role Context

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with buyers and commercial teams to support FMCG purchasing activities across store, catalogue, and online retail channels.
- Implement sourcing strategies that help maintain desired stock levels, improve supplier value, and support category objectives.
- Research, assess, and review new products to ensure they match business goals, customer demand, pricing expectations, and retail quality standards.
- Prepare, review, and follow up purchase order details, delivery schedules, product specifications, and supplier commitments.
- Research and recommend new suppliers that can offer long-term cost savings, stronger product quality, reliable service, or improved commercial terms.
- Analyze sales, stock, and demand data to reduce shortages, control overstocking, and support practical inventory control strategies.
- Source high-quality FMCG products at competitive prices while staying aligned with the organization's commercial and customer experience objectives.
- Manage the issuance of tenders and RFQs to the market in coordination with relevant business users and internal stakeholders.
- Support negotiation strategies that secure profitable supplier agreements, improved pricing, better terms, and stronger category outcomes.
- Work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve purchasing issues, delivery concerns, stock gaps, and product availability challenges.
- Review commercial data and product performance to support decisions on assortment, replenishment, pricing opportunities, and supplier improvement.
- Help maintain accurate purchasing documentation, supplier records, tender information, and commercial follow-up reports.
- Collaborate with supply chain, logistics, merchandising, finance, and store operations teams to support smooth FMCG product flow.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in sourcing, buying coordination, tender execution, and commercial reporting practices.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar commercial, buying, procurement, sourcing, category support, or FMCG retail role.
- Strong understanding of FMCG purchasing, supplier sourcing, stock planning, product selection, and retail commercial operations.
- Experience supporting buyers with purchase planning, product reviews, supplier coordination, tenders, RFQs, and delivery follow-up.
- Good ability to analyze data, identify shortages or overstocking risks, and recommend practical control measures.
- Strong business communication and presentation skills with the ability to work with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Confident negotiation skills with the ability to support profitable deals and long-term supplier value.
- Strong team player with good time management and the ability to handle multiple purchasing and commercial priorities.
- Comfortable working with numbers, commercial reports, pricing information, supplier proposals, and purchase data.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel Suite for analysis, tracking, reporting, and commercial planning.
