Job summary

AECOM Middle East Ltd in Dubai is seeking an experienced Electrical and Mechanical Inspector to oversee inspections and documentation of electrical and mechanical works for stormwater drainage systems and pumping stations.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years' experience, knowledge of QA/QC procedures, and strong communication skills. This full-time role offers an opportunity to work on major infrastructure projects in UAE.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical and mechanical inspections for stormwater, drainage, or pumping stations.
• Strong background in installation and testing of pumps, switchgear, control panels, and mechanical systems.
• UAE experience with RTA and DM requirements preferred.
• Familiarity with microtunneling and pumping station interfaces is an advantage.
• Strong QA/QC knowledge and inspection procedures.
• Excellent documentation, coordination, and communication skills.
• Safety-focused with proactive site supervision skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections of electrical and mechanical installations including pumps, motors, control panels, cabling, piping, and valves.
• Verify installations against approved drawings, method statements, and specifications.
• Monitor alignment, installation, and testing of pumping station systems.
• Inspect cable routing, containment, termination, earthing, and control wiring.
• Supervise installation of mechanical piping networks, fittings, supports, and valves.
• Ensure electrical and mechanical equipment is approved, stored, and installed properly.
• Witness testing activities including insulation resistance, continuity, functional tests, and performance checks.
• Monitor HVAC, lighting, power, control, and instrumentation works within pumping stations.
• Verify as-built updates and ensure accurate documentation.
• Enforce QA/QC procedures including IRs, ITPs, and inspection checklists.
• Assist Senior Engineers and Resident Engineer with NCRs, SORs, and follow-up corrective actions.
• Verify calibration certificates and testing equipment compliance.
• Monitor HSE compliance during all M&E activities.
• Record daily manpower, equipment use, and material deliveries.
• Participate in coordination meetings and resolve multidisciplinary interface issues.
