Job summary

Abacus Consulting & Management in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Lifting Engineer (Lifting Appointed Person) to plan, assess, and authorize lifting operations on major projects. You will prepare lifting plans, method statements, and risk assessments in line with local and international standards, and you will coordinate with site supervisors and crane operators to ensure safe, efficient lifts.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of lift planning, calculations, and crane selection.
• Experience preparing method statements and risk assessments.
• Proficiency in HSE practices for lifting operations.
• Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary site teams.
• Familiarity with LEEA, LOLER, OSHA, ISO, UAE rules.
• Certified Lifting Appointed Person / Lift Supervisor is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and authorize lifting operations including lifting plans, method statements, and risk assessments.
• Evaluate lifting equipment and accessories and coordinate with crane operators.
• Conduct site surveys and supervise complex lifts to ensure safety and compliance.
• Maintain lifting documentation and support training and toolbox talks.
• Contribute to continuous lifting practice improvements across projects.
