Job summary

Aertssen Machinery Services LTD is seeking an experienced Lifting Plans and Engineering specialist in Abu Dhabi to prepare detailed lifting plans for standard and complex lifts, calculate weights, CG, and crane configuration, and assess site conditions for safe execution.

You will generate method statements and AutoCAD-based lift plans, advise on crane selection, review drawings, and ensure compliance with UAE safety codes. Strong English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical, Civil or Structural Engineering (or similar).
• Minimum of 5 years crane/lifting experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or lifting planning software; reading loads.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks is a plus.
• LEEA Certified Appointed Person certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with BS 7121, ISO 9927 and UAE safety codes.
• Knowledgeable of ground-bearing pressure, outrigger pads, and lift radius impact.
• Excellent planning, organization and risk assessment skills.
• Strong English communication (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed lifting plans for standard and complex lifts.
• Calculate load weights, center of gravity, crane configuration and ground bearing pressure.
• Evaluate site conditions to determine safe and effective lifting approach.
• Generate method statements, risk assessments, and AutoCAD-based crane lift plans.
• Advise on crane and lifting gear selection based on project requirements.
• Review structural drawings, lifting point locations, and site constraints for safe rigging.
• Ensure compliance with legislation and safety standards; conduct pre-lift briefings.
• Inspect site cranes, lifting gear, and ground conditions prior to execution.
• Monitor lifts to ensure adherence to plan and safety protocols.
• Prepare client-facing lift proposals and post-lift reports.
