Job summary

Zayed University is seeking a Senior Legal Affairs and Contracts Specialist in Dubai to implement and oversee legal affairs and contracts activities across institutional agreements, MoUs, and risk assessments. You will draft, review, and negotiate agreements, advise on legal implications, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and university policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience and at least 4 years of supervisory position.
• Master’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience and at least 2 years in a supervisory position.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate, finalize a wide range of university contracts, agreements, and MoUs ensuring compliance with laws and institutional requirements.
• Review Agreements submitted by academic, administrative, research, procurement, IT, HR, and other university departments.
• Review and negotiate academic and institutional partnership agreements, including MoUs and collaboration agreements.
• Interpret contractual provisions and advise stakeholders on their legal implications.
• Identify unfavorable, ambiguous, or high-risk provisions and recommend favorable provisions.
• Ensure contracts protect the university’s legal and commercial interests.
• Coordinate with external counterparties and their legal representatives during negotiations.
• Develop risk-based recommendations for contract approval and negotiation.
• Provide legal opinions and risk mitigation strategies in accordance with laws and policies.
