Job summary

EDGE, headquartered in the UAE, is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to work on POWERTECH propulsion technologies. The role focuses on developing control laws, modeling, simulation, and verification for jet engine control systems within a multidisciplinary team in Abu Dhabi.

Responsibilities include model-based design workflows, auto-code generation, and ensuring compliance with aviation certification processes, collaborating with performance, software, and mechanical teams.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Simulink/MATLAB for system and controller modeling and simulations.
• Strong knowledge of closed-loop control, PID, state-space, and frequency-domain analysis.
• Understanding of jet engine dynamics and operating principles.
• Experience with model-based design workflows and documentation practices.
• Familiar with requirements engineering and traceability.

Responsibilities

• Analyze jet engine system requirements and define control system requirements.
• Develop control laws and control algorithms for jet engine control (fuel metering, speed/thrust governing, limits).
• Create system, plant, and controller models in Simulink/MATLAB and run simulations.
• Develop and integrate control logic for start-up, shutdown, and transient modes.
• Perform validation and verification of control system requirements.
• Generate and review code from models (auto-code generation) where applicable.
• Commission designs on relevant systems and verify via MIL/SIL/HIL tests.
• Analyze test results and prepare technical reports.
