Job summary

Buro Happold is seeking a Senior IT Support Officer to deliver high-quality IT support across the Middle East, with a focus on Dubai and Abu Dhabi. You will handle incidents, manage user access, and support end-user devices while coordinating with regional and global teams.

The role requires a decade of IT experience, strong Microsoft 365 and Azure AD skills, plus a proactive, safety- and security-conscious mindset. Hybrid work options and broad regional exposure are offered.

Qualifications

• Requires a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in IT support, desktop support or infrastructure.
• Experience in professional services, engineering, consultancy, or multinational organisations is desirable.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows OS and Azure Active Directory/Entra ID.
• Experience supporting laptops, mobiles, printers, conferencing tech and meeting room solutions.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi).

Your key duties

IT Service Delivery & Support

• Provide first-class IT support to employees across the Middle East with a primary focus on Dubai and Abu Dhabi supporting the wider region.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network and system issues.
• Manage incidents and service requests through the IT Service Management platform, ensuring agreed service levels are achieved.
• Escalate complex issues to appropriate Global IT teams and vendors where required.
• Maintain a customer-focused approach, ensuring users receive timely and professional support.

End User Computing

• Support desktops, laptops, mobile devices, collaboration technologies and peripherals.
• Configure, deploy and maintain end-user devices in line with company standards.
• Assist with software installations, upgrades and patch management activities.
• Manage user accounts, access permissions and system administration activities.

Office & Site Support

• Provide on-site IT support for the Dubai office and remote support to regional locations.
• Assist with office moves, technology refresh programmes, meeting room technology and workplace infrastructure.
• Support the setup of new offices, project sites and client locations across the region when required.

Infrastructure Support

• Assist with the maintenance and monitoring of local office networks, audiovisual systems and connectivity solutions.
• Work alongside Regional and Global IT teams to ensure systems remain secure, reliable and effective.
• Support routine maintenance activities and technology upgrades.

Security & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with company IT policies, standard and security requirements.
• Promote cybersecurity awareness and best practices amongst users.
• Assist with IT audits, asset management and compliance reporting activities.
• Support the investigation and resolution of security-related incidents where required.

Project Participation

• Support the delivery of regional and global IT projects.
• Assist with the implementation of new technologies, software deployments and business improvement initiatives.
• Participate in testing, training and user adoption activities.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain accurate technical documentation, asset records and support procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, user experience and operational efficiency.
• Share knowledge with colleagues and contribute to developing support standards and best practices.

Your skills and experience

• A degree qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in an IT support, desktop support or infrastructure support role.
• Experience supporting users within a professional services, engineering, consultancy or multinational organisation is desirable.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows operating systems and Azure Active Directory/Entra ID.
• Experience supporting laptops, mobile devices, printers, conferencing technologies and meeting room solutions.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN and wireless technologies.
• Experience with IT Service Management platforms and ticketing systems.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, endpoint management and IT compliance requirements.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain a high standard of service.
• Experience supporting users across multiple office locations is advantageous.
• Knowledge of engineering consultancy environments and associated software platforms would be beneficial.
