Job summary

Wood is seeking a Senior Instrumentation Engineer (Packages and Field Instruments) for ADNOC-related projects in Abu Dhabi. The role requires extensive experience in design, modeling and integration of instrumentation systems across offshore and onshore facilities.

Offshore, DCS/SCADA/ICS, SIS, and SPI knowledge are essential. The candidate will lead instrumentation design activities, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, manage interfaces, and ensure compliance with international codes,

Qualifications

• Minimum 15+ years in oil & gas upstream offshore
• PMC experience highly preferable
• Experience in Middle East / GCC projects with major operators
• Fully conversant with international codes and standards
• Excellent command of English, analytical and proactive

Responsibilities

• Design, model and analyze packages and field instrumentation per client standards
• Plan and execute instrumentation design for field instruments, DCS/SCADA/ICS, Fire and Gas and SIS systems
• Prepare data sheets, I/O lists and ensure QMS compliance
• Coordinate with project teams and clients; assist in proposals and pre-qualification documents
• Identify issues impacting progress and stay updated on new technologies and standards

Responsibilities

• The Senior Instrumentation Engineer is primarily engaged in the design, modeling, and analysis of Packages and Field Instrument engineering requirements on a project, tender or proposal, as per client standards, international codes, and project scope of work
• Planning and executing Instrumentation engineering design for field instrumentation, Distributed Control System (DCS), Supervisory control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Integrated Control System (ICS), Fire and Gas, Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and Telecommunications systems. This entails the preparation of basic design, detailed design of the instrumentation and controls part of the project
• SPI knowledge / experience is mandatory in Index, I/O List, Data sheets and Loop drawing
• Offshore design experience and RLE FPSO experience are mandatory
• Preparing data sheets, Cause and effect diagrams, logic verifications, Input to interdepartmental interfaces
• Ensuring that the design is carried out as per the industry standard practices and in conformance with the quality management system
• Co-ordination with Project and client
• Assisting in the preparation of project proposals and pre-qualification documents in what relates to Instrumentation engineering design
• Identification of issues that impede project progress and reporting to Project Managers and Discipline Heads
• Assimilating the evolution of new products and technology, and updating oneself on the latest international standards in terms of engineering design practices and their applications
• Identifying new methodology of work process required for higher productivity
• Preparation of Construction work packs
• TBE, VDR and follow-up engineering activities

Expected

• Minimum 15+ years of experience predominantly in oil and gas upstream offshore industry working for competitors organization such as Kent, KBR, Worley, Petrofac, Saipem
• PMC experience is high preferable
• Large projects experience is must. Middle East / GCC experience on projects with Saudi Aramco, Qatar Energy, PDO, etc
• Fully coherent in all international codes andstandards
• Excellent command of both spoken and written English is required
• Enthusiastic, conscientious and keen to learn / Flexible with a can-doattitude
• Working hands on Experience onSPI
• Must have working knowledge and experience of electrical discipline relevant offshore/onshore oil and gas industry codes, specifications andpractices
• Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage
