Job summary

Wood in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Instrumentation & Control engineering leader to oversee and coordinate I&C activities across the project lifecycle. The role ensures safe, compliant, and efficient design, procurement, construction, commissioning and start-up for a high-profile client.

You will provide technical leadership, review vendor packages, and drive integration of control systems including DCS, PLC, ESD, SCADA, and F&G across multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Control systems engineering.
• 15+ years of experience in I&C engineering within Oil & Gas, LNG, Refinery, Petrochemical, Offshore, Power, or Industrial Projects.
• Minimum 5 years in PMC, EPC, or major capital projects in a senior role.

Responsibilities

• Review and supervise all I&C engineering activities performed by EPC contractors and vendors.
• Ensure compliance with project specs, client standards, and international codes.
• Review instrument data sheets, specifications, control philosophies, and loop diagrams.
• Evaluate DCS/PLC/SCADA/ESD/F&G systems design and implementation.
• Participate in HAZOP, SIL, Functional Safety assessments, and risk reviews.
• Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Telecom, and Safety disciplines.
• Monitor progress and ensure timely delivery of design documents and milestones.
• Provide technical support during detailed engineering, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up.
