Job summary
Penspen in Abu Dhabi, UAE, seeks an experienced Specialist Instrument & Control Engineer to provide specialist technical oversight of instrumentation, control and automation engineering activities for a major upstream Oil & Gas project. The role includes review of EPC deliverables and coordination with multidisciplinary project teams.
You will review P&IDs, instrument datasheets, control philosophies and safety systems; ensure compliance with ADNOC and international standards; and support FEED
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering or equivalent.
- 15+ years of Oil & Gas instrumentation and control experience.
- Strong experience in upstream Oil & Gas projects and PMC/Owner’s Engineer roles.
Responsibilities
- Review instrumentation and control deliverables prepared by the EPC contractor.
- Review P&IDs, instrument index, I/O lists, instrument datasheets, control philosophies, logic diagrams, and alarm schedules.
- Review and validate instrument specifications, valves, ESD, PLC/DCS/SCADA systems and field instrumentation.
- Ensure compliance with ADNOC specs, IEC, ISA, API and other international standards.
- Coordinate with Process, Piping, Electrical, Mechanical, Telecom and other disciplines to resolve interfaces.
- Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL/LOPA and design reviews.
- Review SIL assessments and functional safety documentation.
- Monitor contractor progress and timely closure of technical comments.
