Job summary

L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering in Abu Dhabi seeks a Product Quality Engineer Solar PV to oversee QA, reliability testing, and manufacturing standards for photovoltaic products including modules, cells, wafers and BOM components.

You will analyze manufacturing processes, lead failure analysis, ensure compliance with IEC 61215/61730 and UL, and manage technical relationships with suppliers and OEMs to sustain high quality across the solar value chain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• 8-12 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in a Solar PV cell/module manufacturing facility or with tier-1 solar suppliers.

Responsibilities

• In-Process Quality Control (IPQC) monitoring the end-to-end solar module assembly line.
• Advanced Testing and Characterization including EL imaging, IV testing, and Hi-Pot isolation testing.
• Root Cause and Failure Analysis of internal rejections or field failures using structured problem-solving methods.
• Ensure all hardware complies with international solar certifications including IEC 61215, IEC 61730, UL and local registries.
• Apply SPC using Minitab, Pareto charts, Cp/Cpk to detect deviations and drive improvements.
