Qualifications

• PhD in Bioinformatics, Genomics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or related field.
• Equivalent combination of advanced education and relevant experience may be considered.
• Extensive experience in human genomics, bioinformatics, computational biology, or biomedical data science.
• Proven experience independently leading complex genomic analysis projects.
• Experience with large-scale genomic datasets and whole genome sequencing data.
• Strong publication record preferred.
• Hands-on experience with PLINK, REGENIE, bcftools, VCFtools, or equivalents.
• Knowledge of human genetics, population genomics, variant analysis, and genotype-phenotype relationships.
• Experience with clinical/phenotype/longitudinal datasets is advantageous.
• Knowledge of OMOP, FHIR, EHR-derived phenotypes or healthcare data standards desirable.
• Experience with ML/AI or LLM applications in genomics is an advantage.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently within multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and execution of bioinformatics analyses on large-scale human genomic datasets (WGS).
• Perform genomic analyses including variant discovery, genotype-phenotype analysis, population genetics and association studies.
• Analyze and interpret genomic findings in genetics, population structure, and clinical phenotypes.
• Ensure data quality, assumptions, biases, and reproducibility across analyses.
• Integrate genomic, clinical, and phenotype data for translational research.
• Develop and optimize bioinformatics workflows and pipelines.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and introduce innovations to the team.
• Collaborate with diverse teams to achieve cross-functional research goals.
• Contribute to publications, manuscripts, and conference materials.
• Communicate methods, results, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with policies, governance, and best practices.
• Support continuous improvement for analytical quality and efficiency.
