Job summary

M42, headquartered in Abu Dhabi, seeks a senior bioinformatician to lead the design and execution of analyses on large-scale human genomic datasets, including whole genome sequencing. You will integrate genomic data with clinical phenotypes and develop robust workflows, collaborating with scientists, clinicians, and technical teams, and contributing to publications.

Ideal candidates hold a PhD in Bioinformatics or related field, with extensive experience in human genomics, Python/R and tools

Qualifications

• PhD in Bioinformatics, Genomics, or related field or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in human genomics, bioinformatics, computational biology, or biomedical data science.
• Strong publication record preferred.
• Proficiency in Python and/or R.
• Hands-on experience with PLINK, REGENIE, bcftools, VCFtools or equivalents.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and execution of bioinformatics analyses on large-scale human genomic datasets (WGS).
• Analyze and interpret genomic findings in context of genetics and phenotypes.
• Develop and optimize bioinformatics workflows and pipelines.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver research objectives.
• Contribute to publications, manuscripts, and presentations.
• Communicate methods and results to diverse stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with data governance and scientific best practices.
