Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
• Proven experience in project estimation, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or oil & gas.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Professional certification in Cost Estimating or Quantity Surveying preferred.
• Experience with ERP or project management software preferred.
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the estimation team to deliver accurate and timely cost estimates for projects.
• Develop detailed project estimates including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor costs and contingency planning.
• Review and approve estimates prepared by the team to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with company standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
• Analyze historical project data and industry benchmarks to improve estimation accuracy and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Support the bid and proposal process by providing technical and financial insights.
• Maintain and update estimation templates, databases, and tools to enhance efficiency.
• Monitor market trends, material costs, and labor rates to ensure estimates reflect current conditions.
• Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior estimators.
• Report estimation performance, risks, and opportunities to senior management.
