Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide technical sustainability and environmental support for projects to achieve goals and targets.
• Prepare and deliver training to project teams at kick-off and early stages.
• Assist with registration for licenses/permits/approvals from authorities or certifying bodies.
• Develop sustainability and environmental strategies tailored for each project’s aspirations.
• Review deliverables prepared by consultants and contractors for accuracy and quality.
• Prepare RFPs to appoint suitable sub-consultants.
• Respond to RFIs and coordinate with stakeholders to obtain required information.
• Conduct design/construction sustainability audits and site inspections; monitor corrective actions.
• Coordinate and participate in meetings with Client, environmental agencies, consultants and contractors.
• Guide project teams during planning, design development, tendering and construction supervision.
• Oversee sustainability scope during design and construction supervision.
• Prepare scopes of work and evaluate procurement of sub-consultants.
• Monitor performance of sub-consultants.
• Assist with development and administration of process/performance tools for Projects and Facilities.

Sustainability & Environmental Senior Engineer

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Sustainability & Environmental Senior Engineer to join our team. In this role you will get to contribute to the sustainability and environmental strategies for the delivery of challenging high-quality infrastructure and masterplan projects.

What You'll Be Doing:

Project Execution

• Provide qualified technical sustainability and environmental support for Projects to enable achievement of sustainability and environmental goals and targets.
• Prepare and deliver training to Project teams at kick-off and early project stages.
• Assist with all aspects of registration to enable projects to obtain required licenses / permits/ approvals from authorities or certifying bodies (e.g. EAD, DMT, GORD, MME etc.)
• Develop sustainability and environmental strategies tailored for each project’s aspirations and requirements.
• Review deliverables prepared by consultants and contractors for accuracy and quality.
• Prepare RFPs to appoint the most suitable sub-consultants for any given project.
• Respond to RFIs and other technical queries and coordinate with stakeholders to obtain information as required.
• Conduct design and construction sustainability and environmental audits and site inspections and monitor implementation of corrective actions.
• Coordinate and participate in meetings with Client, environmental agencies, consultants and contractors.

Project Planning

• Guide project teams during planning, design development, tendering and construction supervision to enable achievement of projects sustainability and environmental goals.
• Oversee the successful achievement of sustainability and environmental scope during Project design and construction supervision.
• Prepare scopes of work, task orders, and conduct evaluations for procurement of sustainability and environmental sub-consultants.
• Monitor the performance of sub-consultants.

Corporate Support

• Assist with development and administration of process / performance improvement tools for Projects and Facilities
• Participate in regional meetings
• Assist with coordination and delivery of training and awareness activities

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in architecture, engineering, planning, or related natural sciences field.
• At least 10+ years of experience in sustainability and environmental role, enabling building infrastructure Projects to successfully achieve authorities’ approvals and sustainability certifications.
• Accredited in one or more sustainability rating systems (LEED AP, Envision, BREEAM, Green Roads, GSAS, Estidama PQP, etc.).
• Knowledgeable on the latest trends on the sustainability and environmental field and finding ways to implement them synergistically.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
• Experience liaising with consultants, contractors, and design and construction teams.
• Project management and client interface experience.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Master’s degree in architecture, engineering, planning, or related natural sciences field.
• Documented participation in the preparation of a third-party sustainability certification application (e.g., LEED, Envision, Estidama), including at least two (2) completed, certified projects.
• Experience in coordinating with diverse individuals and teams including client, consultant, contractor, design, and construction members to enable achievement of project sustainability objectives and targets.
• Bring a clear understanding of global good sustainability and environmental consultancy practices and delivery of projects that include bespoke sustainability advice.
