Job summary

Columbus McKinnon in Dubai is seeking a Senior Engineer – Sales Support to bridge engineering excellence with commercial success, delivering technically robust, value-driven solutions across our CMCO brands.

You will support Sales teams with product selection, solution design, and multi-brand proposals, coordinating with global engineering teams to ensure compliant, competitive quotations and customer-focused outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline.
• 4-6+ years of experience in technical sales support, application engineering, tendering, proposal management, or related engineering functions.
• Commercial acumen with proven experience in preparing competitive technical proposals.
• Strong knowledge of cranes, hoists, lifting equipment, material handling systems, automation, and industrial solutions.
• Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and load calculations
• Experience working with EPC contractors, consultants, end-users and industrial customers is highly preferred.
• UAE/GCC driving license preferred.
• Fluency in English, Arabic is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical resource for all CMCO brands, supporting Sales Teams with product selection, solution design, and application engineering.
• Analyze customer specifications, RFQs, tender documents, drawings, and operational requirements to determine optimal technical solutions.
• Develop technically compliant solutions across crane systems, wire rope hoists, chain hoists, lifting equipment, rigging products, automation systems, conveyor systems, and material handling applications.
• Provide expert technical guidance on STAHL, Kito, Yale, Crosby, Pfaff, Dorner, Montrac, Magnetek, and other CMCO brands.
• Support the development of integrated multi-brand solutions aligned with customer operational, safety, and productivity requirements.
• Prepare technical clarifications, equipment sizing calculations, load assessments, and application recommendations.
• Liaise with global engineering and product management teams, including Germany and other manufacturing locations, for complex and engineered applications.
• Ensure all proposed solutions comply with applicable industry standards, customer specifications, and company guidelines.
• Quotation & Proposal Management
• Prepare accurate, competitive, and technically compliant quotations for all CMCO brands and product lines.
• Lead the technical evaluation and costing of RFQs, tenders, and customer inquiries.
• Review customer specifications, project documentation, and technical requirements to identify commercial and engineering considerations.
• Develop complete technical and commercial proposals, including scope definitions, compliance statements, deviations, and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate internally with Projects Execution Team, Technical Team, Operations, and factories to obtain pricing and technical inputs.
• Ensure quotation turnaround times are achieved while maintaining quality and accuracy.
• Maintain quotation records, pricing databases, and proposal documentation.
• Support contract review activities to ensure alignment between customer requirements and proposed solutions.
• Multi-Brand Portfolio Support
• Support quotation and solution development across the full CMCO portfolio, including STAHL, Kito, Yale, Crosby, Pfaff, Dorner, Montrac, Magnetek and other CMCO brands.
• Identify opportunities to combine products and services from multiple brands into integrated customer solutions.
• Promote a solution-driven approach by maximizing cross-brand opportunities during quotation and proposal development.
• Support internal teams with product positioning, technical differentiators, and application guidance.
