Job summary

Penspen in Abu Dhabi seeks a Senior Engineer, Construction (Instrumentation) to oversee instrumentation works on oil and gas projects. Site-based role focusing on safe, timely, and quality execution in line with project specs and industry standards.

The role requires extensive field instrumentation knowledge, EPC/EPCM exposure, and leadership to coordinate contractors, review drawings, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with HSE and project schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Instrumentation/Electronics/Control) required.
• 15+ years of oil & gas experience mandatory.
• 5+ years in GCC region preferred.
• 5+ years in a similar instrumentation role.
• Extensive experience with oil & gas pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of field instruments, DCS, PLC, SIS, F&G.
• Experience working in EPC/EPCM project environments.
• Solid understanding of HSE requirements and codes.

Responsibilities

• Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of instruments and control systems.

• Coordinate contractors, vendors, and engineering teams across disciplines.

• Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of instruments and control systems.
• Review drawings, specifications, method statements, and construction work packages.
• Coordinate contractors, vendors, engineering teams, and other disciplines.
• Monitor progress, quality, safety, and compliance with project schedules.
• Manage inspections, loop checks, system completion, and handover activities.
• Resolve technical and site-related issues.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering Instrumentation, Electronics, or Control Engineering. or related discipline is mandatory
• 15+ years of relevant experience in the oil & gas sector
• 5 years of GCC region
• 5 years of experience in similar position
• Extensive experience in Oil & Gas pipeline
• Strong knowledge of field instruments, DCS, PLC, SIS, F&G, and control systems
• Experience in EPC/EPCM project environments
• In-depth understanding of HSE requirements and industry codes/standards
