EDGE Group in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for POWERTECH to architect, develop, and validate real-time embedded software for engine control systems (ECUs/FADECs) used in gas turbine engines. This is a senior technical role requiring deep embedded expertise and strong collaboration with hardware teams.

You will implement safety-critical code to DO-178C/MISRA/ISO 26262 standards, run SIL/HIL tests, and drive quality through traceability, toolchains, and rigorous reviews while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years of embedded software development experience in aerospace/defense or safety-critical systems.
• Proven experience with bare-metal and RTOS-based embedded software development.
• Hands-on experience with MCUs such as ARM Cortex-M, TI C2000, Infineon Aurix.
• Strong understanding of control systems and real-time constraints.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement real-time embedded software for engine control units (ECUs).
• Develop safety-critical software in compliance with DO-178C, MISRA, and ISO 26262.
• Interface with MATLAB/Simulink models and convert to embedded code.
• Integrate firmware with hardware (MCUs, FPGAs, sensors, actuators).
• Develop SIL/HIL tests using tools like dSPACE, NI, Vector.
• Lead root cause analysis and debugging with diagnostic tools.
• Produce software requirements, design descriptions, and traceability artifacts per standards.
• Support safety assessments and participate in FMEA and hazard analyses.
• Contribute to configuration management with Git/SVN.
