Job summary

Syska Hennessy Group in Abu Dhabi, UAE, is seeking a Senior ELV Site Engineer to join our project on site. The role focuses on on-site supervision, technical coordination, quality, and testing & commissioning, working closely with clients, contractors, and design teams.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, 10+ years of relevant experience (Data Center or critical facilities), and proven UAE site experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in an MEP engineering consultancy.
• Data Centre experience is a must.

We are looking for a Senior ELV Engineer - Onsite to join our project in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Job Responsibilities

As a Senior ELV Site Engineer, you will represent Syska on site and work closely with the client, contractors, consultants, and other project teams. Your role will focus on site supervision, technical coordination, quality, and testing & commissioning.

• Represent Syska in meetings and day-to-day coordination with clients, contractors, architects, and other project stakeholders.
• Review technical calculations, equipment selections, system designs, layouts, and site conditions.
• Attend weekly and monthly project meetings with the client, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Review shop drawings and ensure they are in line with the design, project requirements, and applicable local codes and standards.
• Coordinate ELV works with civil, electrical, mechanical, controls, CAD, and other disciplines.
• Prepare and issue site instructions to contractors when required.
• Support the QA/QC process and monitor the quality of works on site.
• Review contractor submissions, including RFIs, material submittals, shop drawings, method statements, and variations.
• Review drawings, O&M manuals, and as-built documents and ensure the completed works meet the approved design and design intent.
• Carry out regular site inspections to check workmanship, materials, and compliance with project specifications and standards.
• Prepare and follow up on punch lists, ensuring defects and outstanding items are properly closed by the contractor.
• Witness and support testing & commissioning of ELV systems, temperature sensors, MOVs, and control valves.
• Provide technical advice and support to the client on construction-related matters when required.
• Support the Uptime Institute certification process, where applicable.
• Support the final testing, close-out, and handover of the facility to the client.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, preferably within an MEP engineering consultancy.
• Strong experience in site supervision and construction administration.
• Data Centre experience is a must.
• Good knowledge of ELV systems, testing & commissioning, and applicable UAE codes and standards.
• Candidates currently based in the UAE are preferred.
