Job summary

EDGE is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Senior Technician in the UAE, Abu Dhabi to ensure the safe, reliable operation of CNC machines and SPMs. You will lead complex fault investigations and guide junior technicians while coordinating with OEMs and contractors.

The role focuses on advanced electrical maintenance, PLCs, servo and spindle drives, safety systems, and industrial automation across production lines. Strong leadership and problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical maintenance of CNCs, SPMs and associated production equipment.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot, repair, and improve CNC control systems and related electrical hardware.
• Leadership capability to guide junior technicians and coordinate with OEMs.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machines, SPMs, and electrical/control systems.
• Lead systematic troubleshooting and root cause analysis of complex electrical failures.
• Diagnose and repair CNC control systems, PLCs, machine interfaces, and electrical panels.
• Troubleshoot and maintain servo drives, spindle drives, motors, encoders, and feedback systems.
• Diagnose faults in CNC axis control systems including servo amplifiers and safety devices.
• Maintain ATC, tool changers, pallet changers, and machine sequence controls.
• Inspect power distribution equipment (MCCBs, MCBs, contactors, transformers).
• Troubleshoot PLC I/O, sensors, relays, and automation systems.
• Inspect and test HMI systems, operator panels, and machine networks.
• Ensure machine safety circuits and Lockout/Tagout compliance.
• Perform preventive maintenance on CNC electrical systems and cooling systems.
• Conduct electrical inspections (voltage, current, resistance, insulation).
• Monitor panels for overheating and wear, and coordinate with OEMs.
