Job summary

Tractebel is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to review and validate electrical designs for Power System Plant Equipment, protection schemes, SCMS, and cybersecurity across ME projects. The role emphasizes alignment with international standards, client specs and risk mitigation to ensure reliability and safety of power infrastructure.

Reporting to the Product Manager T&D, you will coordinate with stakeholders, perform design audits, and support site surveys for substations and cable

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Electrical & Electronics engineering from a reputable university.
• 20+ years of experience in electrical design for substations and protection.
• Experience with 132kV–400kV projects and SCMS/SCADA.
• Familiarity with international/local standards and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Review electrical documents, drawings, materials, calculations, and settings within contractual periods.
• Verify equipment specs and vendor documents for consistency.
• Review protection philosophies and relay coordination for transmission and distribution.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and clients for interface and integration.
• Prepare Conceptual Design Reports, Scope of Works, and BOQ.
• Support FAT activities and site surveys for substations.
