EMIRATES GLOBAL ALUMINIUM (EGA) seeks a leader for Strategy Development and Implementation within safety governance. This role involves developing and implementing safety strategies, ensuring compliance with policies, and managing departmental performance. Ideal candidates should possess at least 12 years of experience in safety management, with strong leadership and communication skills.

Sets out EGA's Safety and Governance strategy and framework based on EGA's overall ESG Sustainability strategy purpose bold aspirations and values. Directs the implementation of the functional strategy ensuring alignment with group strategy EGA's vision mission and corporate objectives. Ensures functional strategy and related strategic plans are developed and implemented in alignment with the organization’s vision and mission. Provides subject matter expertise for the assigned domain and advises EGA leadership on safety and governance matters to support strategic objectives. Shares the approved strategy with local and legal authorities where appropriate to obtain feedback for continuous improvement.
Manages the achievement of functional objectives through effective leadership, performance management, employee development and motivation. Establishes SMART KPIs for departments to measure individual and departmental performance against company objectives and values. Leads talent development initiatives in collaboration with discipline experts to ensure business capability requirements are met. Acts as a role model and promotes organizational values and ethical behavior across the function. Ensures effective coordination with other departments to facilitate timely information flow and service delivery.
Oversees the preparation and consolidation of the functional budget. Monitors financial performance against budget to identify cost reduction opportunities and performance improvement initiatives.
Develops company-wide safety policies, processes, and procedures and monitors their effectiveness. Ensures implementation of corporate procedures and guidelines across the business. Communicates relevant safety and governance information internally to keep management informed of initiatives and changes.
Develops and maintains a comprehensive governance framework for safety management across EGA. Oversees implementation of safety policies, systems, processes, procedures, and controls to ensure legislative compliance. Advises EGA management on safety roles and responsibilities. Ensures implementation, review, updating, and auditing of EGA safety management systems. Monitors and updates safety procedures in line with legislative changes and EGA directives. Plans, leads, and coordinates safety improvement projects across all EGA sites. Leads safety meetings and inspections to ensure compliance and drive corrective actions. Plans and conducts safety and compliance audits. Establishes, manages, and maintains comprehensive safety programs. Provides guidance to site safety management to ensure compliance with local regulations.
Leads and directs day-to-day safety operations across all EGA sites. Reviews and halts operations that pose a risk to employee safety. Identifies opportunities to reduce workplace injuries and accidents. Leads major incident investigations and oversees investigation reporting. Reviews accident and incident reports. Plans and coordinates safety training programs for all organizational levels. Reviews and improves safety training content and delivery. Conducts safety inspections and audits to assess compliance. Analyzes accident and incident trends and recommends improvement plans. Provides safety advice and support to area management.
Develops and implements comprehensive training programs aligned with international safety standards. Leads safety awareness initiatives through workshops, seminars, and communication campaigns. Establishes and maintains standardized safety reporting systems across international operations. Reviews and updates safety procedures to ensure compliance with international standards and regulations. Promotes continuous improvement by encouraging employee feedback on safety practices. Monitors compliance through regular international safety audits and inspections.
Develops and maintains effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ensures high standards of business ethics while addressing critical issues and delivering required services effectively.
Ensures compliance with all relevant safety, quality, and environmental policies, procedures, and controls. Promotes employee safety, legislative compliance, and environmental responsibility.
Leads continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices in response to evolving business needs and global standards. Drives proactive change management initiatives across the function.
Ensures functional reports are prepared accurately, submitted on time, and comply with EGA policies and quality standards.

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline such as Safety Management or HSSE. Professional Certification or Diploma in Safety Management. Lead Auditor certification.
Minimum of 12 years of safety experience in an industrial environment. At least 4 years of experience in a safety management role.
