Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking an experienced Senior Digital Drilling Solutions Consultant to support the delivery of digital drilling, well engineering, and drilling performance initiatives for a major oil and gas operator in the United Arab Emirates.

The role combines drilling domain expertise with applications knowledge, data management, and well planning workflows to improve decision-making, data quality, and operational efficiency across the well lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related engineering or software field.
• 8+ years in oil and gas with drilling experience.
• Experience with drilling software, digital drilling tech, or well planning solutions.
• Strong data management and performance monitoring knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide subject matter expertise for digital drilling and well engineering solutions.
• Support the implementation, enhancement, and adoption of drilling and well planning technologies.
• Work with drilling teams to improve planning, execution, and post-well analysis workflows.
• Support the management, integration, and governance of drilling and well data.
• Analyze operational drilling performance and identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency gains.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including drilling, geology, subsurface, completions, IT, and software development teams.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications and technical solutions.
• Support application configuration, deployments, testing, and user acceptance activities.
• Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Contribute to digital transformation and operational excellence initiatives.
• Develop reports, dashboards, workflows, and recommendations that support data-driven decision making.
• Support integration between drilling applications, databases, reporting platforms, and real-time data systems.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Digital Drilling Solutions Consultant to support the delivery of digital drilling, well engineering, and drilling performance initiatives for a major oil and gas operator.

The successful candidate will combine strong drilling domain expertise with knowledge of drilling applications, data management, well planning workflows, and performance optimization. This individual will work closely with drilling, wells, operations, and digital technology teams to improve decision-making, enhance data quality, and drive operational efficiency across the well lifecycle.

This role is ideally suited to professionals with experience in drilling engineering, drilling software solutions, digital well planning, drilling data management, drilling analytics, or drilling transformation projects.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8+ years of experience within the oil and gas industry.
• Strong understanding of drilling engineering and well construction workflows.
• Experience supporting drilling software platforms, digital drilling technologies, or well planning solutions.
• Knowledge of drilling operational data, engineering calculations, and performance monitoring.
• Experience working with drilling performance metrics including:
  • Rate of Penetration (ROP)
  • Weight on Bit (WOB)
  • Torque
  • Hookload
  • Standpipe Pressure (SPP)
  • Vibration and drilling dysfunction indicators
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work across technical, operational, and business teams.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with drilling engineering and well planning applications.
• Experience with drilling data management platforms and data governance processes.
• Familiarity with digital well planning workflows and engineering databases.
• Experience supporting drilling data integration and interoperability projects.
• Knowledge of WITSML and real-time drilling data systems.
• Experience with drilling performance analysis and optimization initiatives.
• Exposure to agile project delivery methodologies.
• Experience gathering requirements and managing technical deliverables with software development teams.
• Previous field, rig-site, real-time operations centre, or drilling engineering experience.
• Exposure to cloud, analytics, AI, or digital oilfield technologies is advantageous.
