Responsibilities

• Monitor drilling progress and make real-time decisions to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Conduct post-well analyses and provide recommendations for future projects.
• Manage and mentor junior engineers and drilling personnel.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or quality.
• Maintain relationships with vendors and service providers and stay updated on industry advances.

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Drilling Engineer to join our team on a full-time permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of drilling operations from planning and design to execution and evaluation. They will work closely with other members of the drilling team to ensure that projects are completed on time within budget and in accordance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement drilling plans and procedures in accordance with project requirements and company policies
• Conduct technical reviews and analysis of drilling programs to identify potential risks and recommend solutions
• Collaborate with geologists reservoir engineers and other team members to optimize well design and placement
• Monitor drilling progress and make real-time decisions to ensure efficient and safe operations
• Conduct post-well analysis and provide recommendations for future projects
• Manage and mentor junior engineers and drilling personnel
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health safety and environmental regulations
• Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising safety or quality
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and service providers
• Keep up-to-date with industry developments and incorporate new technologies and techniques into drilling operations

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in drilling operations with at least 5 years in a senior or supervisory role
• Extensive knowledge of drilling techniques equipment and technologies
• Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Familiarity with industry regulations and standards
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
