Job summary

Client of JOH Partners seeks a Design & Engineering Manager to lead the UAE-based Design & Engineering function across the UAE, GCC and beyond. You will provide technical direction, resource planning and quality oversight for multiple projects, ensuring compliance with TG20-21, WAHR and client specifications.

The role requires senior leadership, hands-on CAD/analysis tool experience, and ability to align engineering decisions with project costs and schedules. Travel to sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or related discipline; professional certification preferred.
• Senior design and engineering leadership experience.
• Experience managing engineering teams, resources and deliverables.
• Extensive knowledge of CAD principles and product development.
• Hands-on with STAAD or similar analysis tools.
• Strong knowledge of TG20-21 and WAHR requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Willingness to travel within UAE and GCC.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Design & Engineering team and set technical direction.
• Allocate resources and prioritize project activities.
• Review designs, calculations, drawings, and documentation.
• Provide guidance on engineering principles and methods.
• Manage project deliverables across UAE and GCC.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and client specs.
• Maintain design review, QA and document control processes.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation.
• Support client meetings, tenders and BD activities.
• Collaborate with clients, consultants, suppliers and regulators.
• Drive continuous improvement in processes and standards.
• Develop engineering templates, procedures and best practices.
• Ensure projects meet schedules and budgets.
• Travel to project sites as required.
