Job summary

Regional Bank seeks a Senior Credit Risk Manager in Dubai to lead independent credit risk assessments across the consumer banking portfolio and present recommendations to approvers and boards. The role requires deep technical depth and the ability to influence senior stakeholders and committees.

Ideal candidates have 10–12+ years in credit underwriting within banking, including GCC/MENAT exposure, a strong consumer lending background, and CA or CFA qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
• CA or CFA qualification strongly preferred.
• 10-12+ years credit underwriting experience within banking, including at least 7 years in the GCC or wider MENAT region.
• Strong consumer banking credit background with a solid understanding of retail lending products.
• Thorough knowledge of IFRS 9 / ECL and risk governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead independent credit risk assessments across the consumer banking portfolio.
• Assign and review internal risk ratings for credit decisions.
• Oversee portfolio quality and remediation.
• Identify early warning signals and manage watchlist and stressed accounts.
• Own IFRS 9 staging and ECL provisioning and monitor risk appetite.
• Deliver portfolio and risk reporting to Board Risk Committee and regulators.
• Develop and maintain credit policies, procedures, and risk frameworks.
• Lead credit risk automation and system enhancement projects.
