Job summary

Aventus Global Talent is assisting a leading UAE bank to hire a Senior Credit Risk Manager in Dubai. You will lead independent credit assessments across the consumer banking portfolio, oversee risk ratings, and drive governance and reporting.

The role requires deep IFRS 9/ECL knowledge, stakeholder management, and strong regulatory reporting experience. The candidate should have 10–12+ years in credit underwriting, GCC/MENAT exposure, and qualifications such as CA or CFA.

Qualifications

• 10–12+ years’ credit underwriting experience within banking.
• At least 7 years in the GCC or wider MENAT region.
• Strong consumer banking credit background and portfolio dynamics.
• Knowledge of IFRS 9 / ECL, risk appetite and portfolio monitoring.
• Experience in Board and regulatory reporting and risk governance.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and committees.

Responsibilities

• Lead independent credit risk assessments across the consumer banking portfolio.
• Assign and review internal risk ratings for robust credit decisions.
• Oversee portfolio quality and drive timely remediation.
• Identify early warnings and manage watchlist and stressed accounts.
• Own IFRS 9 staging and ECL provisioning and monitor risk parameters.
• Deliver portfolio and risk reporting to Board Risk Committee and regulators.
• Develop credit policies and risk frameworks aligned with requirements.
• Lead credit risk automation and system enhancement projects.
