Job summary

Zayed University in Dubai seeks a Senior Legal Affairs and Contracts Specialist to implement legal affairs, draft and manage university contracts, and facilitate dispute resolution. The role requires reviewing academic and institutional agreements, interpreting terms, and guiding stakeholders on legal implications to protect institutional interests.

Responsibilities include negotiation with external parties, risk assessment, legal research, and contributing to policy development.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience and at least 4 years of supervisory position.
Master's degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience and at least 2 years in a supervisory position.
Certification in a relevant field is preferred.

Responsibilities

Draft, review, negotiate, finalize a wide range of university contracts, agreements, and MoUs.
Review and negotiate academic and institutional partnership agreements and memoranda.
Interpret contractual provisions and advise stakeholders on legal implications.
Identify high-risk provisions and recommend favorable terms.
Ensure contracts protect the university's legal and commercial interests.
Advise internal stakeholders on contractual rights, obligations, risks, and liabilities.
Coordinate with external counterparties and their legal representatives during negotiations.
Develop risk-based recommendations for contract approval and negotiation.
Conduct legal research and provide opinions with thorough analysis.
Communicate legal matters clearly to non-legal stakeholders for informed decisions.
