Job summary

Agthia Group, a leading Food & Beverage company based in Abu Dhabi, is seeking a Senior Commodity Buyer to manage milling wheat and other grains, optimize sourcing, and ensure timely supply.

You will lead tenders, contracts, and freight planning, while coordinating with finance and suppliers to optimize costs and ensure quality. 7+ years in procurement and GAFTA knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in a relevant field.
• 7+ years in procurement/commodity buying with advanced training.
• Experience in grains commodities and freight operations.
• Experience with foreign import/export regulations and GAFTA courses.

Responsibilities

• Optimize sourcing and shipment plans to ensure long-term commodity coverage.
• Lead sourcing and shipping for Milling Wheat, Hard Wheat, Semi Hard Wheat, and related grains.
• Ensure tenders and direct spot purchases are executed without gaps or quality disputes.
• Lead contract finalization with suppliers within required timelines.
• Monitor freight market pricing and market movements; maintain reporting.
• Manage freight fixtures, ship nominations and demurrage per programme.
• Coordinate with Finance for Letters of Credit and supplier payments.
• Maintain communications with suppliers, brokers, surveyors, vessel agents and shipping agencies.
• Provide market insights on competitor sourcing and cargo movements.
• Support R&D and Commercial teams in cost-saving opportunities.
• Develop Sorghum and other commodities as part of portfolio.
