Job summary

Wood is seeking a seasoned Commissioning Leader in Abu Dhabi to drive the project commissioning strategy, lead the commissioning team, and ensure safe, compliant execution across brownfield and island works. You will mentor UAE Nationals and coordinate with ADNOC and contractors to minimize disruption to operations.

Ideal candidates bring 20+ years in oil & gas commissioning, strong leadership, and fluency in international codes and standards, with a proven track record of delivering complex

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent.
• Master’s degree in management or equivalent.
• 20+ years of oil & gas experience, including commissioning management on large projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good leadership and teamwork abilities.
• Knowledge of relevant international codes and standards.
• Ability to make independent judgments in resolving quality issues and manage interfaces with contractors.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project Commissioning team to support objectives and strategies.
• Champion safety in all construction aspects of the project and promote the safety objective that nobody gets hurt.
• Manage the project Module Fabrication on Commissioning teams to ensure commissioning execution.
• Oversee contractor’s commissioning planning and execution to meet project objectives and requirements.
• Establish a commissioning organization to implement execution plans and coordinate resourcing.
• Provide execution strategy support to the project team.
• Ensure contractor and subcontractors comply with safety expectations and procedures.
• Develop an Integrated Safety Plan for commissioning, including SIMOPS for all island and brownfield work.
