Job summary

Wood in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to drive pre-commissioning through start-up for large-scale energy projects. The role is initially office-based with a potential move to onshore site in the United Arab Emirates, supporting the Oil, Gas & New Energies sector.

You will coordinate testing, inspections, validation, and turnover, ensuring systems meet specifications and client needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent technical discipline).
• 5–10 years of hands-on experience in pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up phases of large-scale industrial, energy, or oil and gas projects.
• Vendor equipment-specific commissioning training is a plus

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe and efficient commissioning of systems and equipment in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.
• Coordinate and execute commissioning procedures from pre-commissioning through start-up, validating performance and functionality of systems.
• Develop and implement commissioning plans, checklists, and documentation aligned with project schedules and commissioning strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, construction, operations, and vendors to ensure seamless transition from construction to operations.
