Job summary

Dubai Municipality is seeking a Civil Engineer to implement site visit and field survey plans for municipal and government buildings. You will prepare technical maintenance reports with BOQs, follow up on work, and ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.

The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and a minimum of 3 years of related experience, with responsibilities including contract administration, financial reporting, and adherence to security policies.

Responsibilities

• Implement approved site visit and field survey plans for municipal and government buildings.
• Prepare technical reports identifying detailed maintenance requirements with photos and BOQs.
• Follow up on project completion and ensure compliance with designs, specs and schedules.
• Receive corrective maintenance requests and issue work orders to contractors via the maintenance system.
• Ensure payment certificates comply with contractual terms; prepare payment disbursement forms.
• Prepare monthly financial reports for annual maintenance contractors.
• Prepare weekly and semi-monthly reports on project implementation with proposals.
• Adhere to information security and confidentiality policies within delegated authorities.
• Perform any other duties related to the position.

Job Description:

• Implement the approved site visit and field survey plan for the Municipality’s buildings and facilities, as well as government entities’ buildings and facilities, as assigned. Prepare technical reports to identify the detailed requirements for preventive maintenance works for the Municipality’s buildings and facilities and those of government entities, as assigned, supported by the necessary photographs, documents, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs). Follow up on the completion of projects, maintenance works, modifications, and additions carried out by contractors and companies approved by the Department, or by the Administration’s in-house maintenance team, and ensure compliance with approved specifications, designs, and schedules.
• Receive corrective maintenance requests and assess the need for their implementation in order to issue the necessary work orders to contractors through the electronic maintenance operations management system, while ensuring compliance with the approved timelines specified for contractors to complete their works.
• Ensure that financial claims and payment certificates submitted by consultants and contractors assigned to projects, maintenance works, modifications, and additions comply with the contractual terms, technical specifications, and approved designs, and prepare payment disbursement forms.
• Prepare monthly financial reports for all annual maintenance contract contractors covering completed work orders, to enable external companies to submit their monthly payment claims based on these reports.
• Prepare weekly and semi-monthly reports on the implementation of assigned projects, including achievements, constraints, challenges affecting workflow, and the necessary proposals and recommendations to address them.
• Perform all assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Department’s approved information security and confidentiality policies and within the delegated authorities.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities related to the nature and scope of the position, as assigned.
