Job summary

Dubai Municipality is seeking a Civil Engineer to review designs, plans and drawings for compliance with approved specifications, execution drawings, and to verify civil materials used in projects meet required standards.

You will evaluate consultants' qualifications, follow up maintenance during warranty, prepare reports, obtain NOCs from DEWA and other authorities, and conduct regular site visits to ensure progress and quality.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate designs, plans, and drawings for compliance with approved specifications, standards, designs, and execution drawings.
• Review and approve civil materials used for project execution, ensuring compliance with required technical standards and specifications.
• Review qualification applications of consultants specialized in project execution to assess technical capabilities and experience, and submit recommendations for inclusion on approved lists.
• Follow up on maintenance procedures for completed projects to identify and rectify defects during warranty period.
• Prepare and draft reports and respond to correspondence to obtain No Objection Certificates (NOCs) and coordinate matters to ensure proper progress of works.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor work progress, verify material quality, and ensure adherence to schedules.
• Comply with information security policies and participate in related training programs.
• Perform any other duties related to the position.

• Review and evaluate designs, plans, and drawings related to assigned projects, ensuring the quality of work and compliance with approved specifications, standards, designs, and execution drawings. Review and approve civil materials used for project execution, ensuring their compliance with the required and approved technical standards and specifications, and ensuring that contractors and consultants adhere to contractual terms and conditions in accordance with approved schedules.
• Review the qualification applications of consultants specialized in project execution to assess their technical capabilities and experience, and submit appropriate recommendations for including their names on the approved lists.
• Follow up on maintenance procedures for completed projects to identify and rectify any defects that may arise during the warranty period stipulated in the contracts.
• Prepare and draft reports and respond to correspondence from consultants, contractors, and external entities, such as Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), telecommunications providers, Dubai Police, and other relevant entities, to ensure that assigned consultants and contractors obtain the required No Objection Certificates (NOCs), and to coordinate all matters related to ensuring the proper progress of works in accordance with the approved schedule.
• Conduct regular site visits to ongoing projects to monitor work progress, verify the quality of materials and completed works, ensure compliance with approved designs, plans, and drawings, and monitor contractors’ adherence to approved schedules.
• Comply with information security policies and protect data and information in accordance with the Municipality’s approved Data Classification Policy. Report any violations or security breaches through the designated channels and participate in information security-related training programs.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities related to the nature and scope of the position, as assigned.

Bachelor’s Degree
