Position Overview

Senior Civil Inspector is responsible for supervising and inspecting civil infrastructure works in Dubai, ensuring full compliance with contract documents, approved drawings, authority regulations, quality standards, and health and safety requirements throughout construction, commissioning, and handover stages.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and fully understand contract documents, drawings, specifications, and health and safety requirements including all updates
• Ensure contractor compliance with approved drawings, standards, specifications, and contract requirements
• Maintain daily records of contractor manpower, equipment, and site activities
• Carry out site supervision and inspections as instructed by the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer
• Liaise daily with contractor teams to monitor resources, equipment, and health and safety compliance
• Prepare daily site reports including work orders, material deliveries, inspections, and site activities
• Implement site instructions issued by the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer
• Apply and enforce all site quality control and quality assurance procedures
• Perform site measurements and surveying checks including alignments, levels, and elevations
• Coordinate with client representatives during inspections in the presence of the engineering supervision team
• Monitor contractor QA QC activities and maintain accurate inspection and testing records
• Assist with preparation of correspondence, reports, and documentation in line with contract requirements
• Identify site issues and support timely resolution in coordination with the engineering supervision team
• Monitor start-up, commissioning, and handover of civil infrastructure works and maintain milestone records
• Maintain records of material tests, inspection reports, and executed works
• Conduct audit inspections to verify conformity with contract documents and approved submissions
• Issue Non-Conformance Reports and Site Observation Reports and follow up corrective actions
• Review RFIs and technical submittals and provide recommendations to the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer
• Monitor contractor progress against approved schedules and report delays or risks
• Ensure compliance with local authority regulations including RTA, Dubai Municipality, and DEWA requirements
• Support coordination with other disciplines to ensure proper integration of civil works
• Enforce health, safety, and environment requirements and report violations immediately
• Participate in site meetings, coordination sessions, and technical discussions with all stakeholders

Ideal Profile

• Technical degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 8 years of experience in construction supervision of civil or infrastructure projects
• Middle East experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of civil construction practices, standards, and QA QC procedures
• Proven experience in site inspections, reporting, and contractor coordination
• Ability to identify issues proactively and support effective resolution on site
• Strong communication, documentation, and coordination skills
