Position Overview

AECOM is seeking a Senior Civil 3D Technician in Dubai, UAE to produce complex infrastructure models and drawing packages within a project delivery team. The role requires advanced Civil 3D capability and proven production experience on live infrastructure projects, covering gravity and pressure networks, corridors, surfaces, cross sections and coordinated BIM deliverables. Working with limited supervision, the position provides dependable technical production, quality checking and day-to-day mentoring support for other technicians.

The Senior Civil 3D Technician will produce project deliverables while maintaining required BIM, CAD and drawing standards throughout each milestone stage.

Responsibilities

• Deliver models and drawings for the team 's infrastructure scope, including complex gravity and pressure networks, corridors, surfaces and cross sections.
• Apply NOC data standardisation and base plan standardisation requirements.
• Maintain base plan and title block requirements at each project milestone.
• Produce BIM models with the required geometry and attributes.
• Export models into proprietary formats required by the project.
• Maintain the single source of truth used for 2D drawing extraction.
• Produce cut sheets and bind drawings as required.

Quality Checking

• Complete drawing quality control self-checks before submission.
• Apply the discipline model checklist and perform the required 3D checks.
• Complete drawing checklist, CAD standard compliance and 2D checks.
• Conduct a final sanity check before drawing packages proceed for review.
• Check technicians ' work before it reaches the team lead.

Coordination and Delivery

The position contributes directly to multidisciplinary coordination and information delivery. This includes participating in clash resolution activities and correcting clashes assigned to the team. The Senior Civil 3D Technician will also provide realistic production input to master and task information delivery plans and contribute to quantity take-off activities where these support the bill of quantities.

Mentoring and Automation

• Demonstrate established production standards and workflows to technicians.
• Provide day-to-day technical mentoring.
• Use design automation tools for repetitive production activities.
• Identify and report defects in automation tools or workflows so they can be addressed.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or draughtsmanship, or a degree in a related discipline.
• 6 years of infrastructure modelling and drafting experience within an engineering consultancy.
• Proven Civil 3D production experience on live infrastructure projects rather than training exercises.
• Middle East experience is preferred.

Technical Requirements

• Advanced Civil 3D, including pipe networks, pressure networks, corridors, surfaces, data shortcuts, styles, label sets and sheet sets.
• AutoCAD for infrastructure drafting and drawing production.
• Navisworks for clash review and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Autodesk Construction Cloud or BIM 360 for file management and package sharing.
• Bluebeam Revu for technical markup.
• Revit, Plant 3D or Dynamo experience is advantageous.
