Job summary

AECOM Middle East Ltd in Dubai seeks a Bridge Design Technician focused on BIM and CAD. You will produce structural models and drawings for bridge projects, coordinating with engineers and ensuring documentation meets BIM standards.

You will use AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit and Navisworks to deliver 2D and 3D drawings, while mentoring junior technicians and supporting multidisciplinary teams on complex projects. Hybrid work is offered in the region.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent preferable.
• 5–10 years drafting and modelling experience.
• At least 5 years supporting bridge projects.
• Experience with UAE or Middle East projects preferred.
• Proficient with Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Navisworks and BIM processes.

Responsibilities

Role Context – This position supports AECOM 's Transportation business line within its Middle East and Africa operations. The Bridge Design Technician will coordinate with structural design engineers to produce models and drawings using AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit and related digital-delivery systems. The role includes independent responsibility for smaller assignments, collaborative delivery on major projects and technical support for junior technicians.

• Deliver drawings and models in accordance with agreed submission dates.
• Maintain compliance with client drafting and modelling requirements.
• Review completed work for accuracy before formal issue.
• Coordinate models using Autodesk Navisworks.
• Support BIM coordination and clash-review activities.
• Manage project information through ProjectWise and BIM 360.
• Interpret engineering sketches and technical design inputs.
• Apply relevant CAD and BIM standards to all project deliverables.
• Understand how contractual requirements affect drawing production.
• Take ownership of assigned modelling and drafting activities.
• Provide guidance and technical support to junior CAD technicians.
• Share practical knowledge with other members of the digital-delivery team.

Ideal Profile

• Basic technical qualification such as a diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Five to ten years of relevant drafting and modelling experience.
• At least five years of practical experience supporting bridge projects.
• Previous involvement in major civil infrastructure developments.
• UAE or wider Middle East project experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
• Experience producing two-dimensional and three-dimensional models.
• Working knowledge of MicroStation for infrastructure drawing production.
• Familiarity with Autodesk Navisworks for model coordination.
• Understanding of BIM coordination processes and deliverables.
• Experience working with ProjectWise and BIM 360.
• Awareness of commonly used construction contracts.
• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
