Job summary

Waagner Biro Bridge Services in the UAE seeks a senior Bridge Engineer to lead maintenance, rehabilitation and construction activities on major bridge projects. You will review drawings and specifications, coordinate with clients and subcontractors, ensure safety and quality, and provide technical guidance to site teams while upholding UAE standards.

This role requires 10+ years of UAE experience and a valid driving license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering.
• 10+ years of UAE bridge experience in maintenance, rehabilitation, or construction.
• Experience with bridge inspection, repairs and rehabilitation.
• ADM project experience is highly preferred.
• Valid UAE driving license with own car is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance, rehabilitation and construction activities for bridges to ensure project success.
• Provide technical guidance to project teams, site engineers and subcontractors.
• Review drawings, specs, method statements and procedures for compliance.
• Monitor progress, identify challenges and propose engineering solutions.
• Ensure works comply with designs, standards, safety and project specs.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Supervise inspection, repair and maintenance of bridges and related structures.
• Review submissions, inspection reports and project documentation.
• Support planning, scheduling, resource management and progress tracking.
• Participate in meetings and provide technical updates to management.

Job Description

• Lead and manage bridge maintenance, rehabilitation, and construction activities to ensure successful project execution.
• Provide technical guidance and engineering support to project teams, site engineers, and subcontractors.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, method statements, and work procedures to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Monitor project progress, identify technical challenges, and provide effective engineering solutions.
• Ensure all bridge works are executed in accordance with approved designs, quality standards, safety requirements, and project specifications.
• Coordinate with Clients, Consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Supervise inspection, repair, and maintenance activities for bridges and related structures.
• Review technical submissions, inspection reports, and project documentation.
• Support project planning, scheduling, resource management, and progress monitoring.
• Participate in project meetings and provide technical updates to management and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with UAE construction standards, HSE requirements, and quality procedures.
• Prepare technical reports and maintain accurate engineering records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Bridge Engineer / Senior Bridge Engineer in bridge maintenance, rehabilitation, or bridge construction projects in the UAE.
• Strong experience in bridge inspection, structural repairs, rehabilitation works, and maintenance activities.
• Proven experience working on major infrastructure projects in the UAE.
• Experience with Abu Dhabi Municipality (ADM) projects will be highly preferred.
• Valid UAE Driving License with own car is mandatory.
